Medan (ANTARA) - The North Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) states that 360 prospective Hajj pilgrims from North Sumatra, grouped in flight group (kloter) 1, have entered the Medan Embarkation Hajj Dormitory.

“The 360 prospective Hajj pilgrims consist of 223 from Binjai City and 131 from Medan City. They are now at the Hajj dormitory,” said the Head of the North Sumatra Kemenhaj Regional Office, Zulkifli Sitorus, in Medan on Tuesday.

These hundreds of prospective Hajj pilgrims are accompanied by six officials consisting of the Indonesian Hajj Guiding Team (TPHI), Indonesian Hajj Worship Guiding Team (TPIHI), medical personnel, and local Hajj officers (PHD).

He stated that the arrival of Group 1 signifies the beginning of Hajj season operations this year at the Medan Embarkation.

According to him, the hundreds of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Binjai City and Medan City immediately followed the orderly reception procedures at the Medan Hajj Dormitory.

“This group is also divided into nine contingents, each led by a karom (contingent leader),” said Zulkifli.

One important stage upon the arrival of these 360 prospective Hajj pilgrims at the Medan Hajj Dormitory is the distribution of the Nusuk Card, a digital identity that serves as the primary access for prospective Hajj pilgrims during their worship in Saudi Arabia.

“The Nusuk Card is the official access for you in Mecca, Medina, and Arafat. Do not let it get damaged, lost, or used by others. Even, do not take photos carelessly, because the barcode inside is very important,” Zulkifli emphasised.
