Ministry of Forestry digitalises wildlife and plant transport permits via PeSATS

The Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut) is accelerating digital transformation in public services regarding the transport permits for animals and plants through the Electronic Portal for Natural Plant and Wild Animal Transport Documents (PeSATS).

Ahmad Munawir, Director of Species and Genetic Conservation (KSG) at the Ministry of Forestry, stated that this digitalisation step is a direct instruction from the Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, to provide time certainty and transparency in every service process for both the public and business actors.

“PeSATS is not merely an application for managing transport documents, but an integrated electronic information system that manages the entire process from business licensing to the reporting of the circulation of wild flora and fauna (TSL),” Ahmad said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Through the existence of PeSATS, the licensing process for the circulation of wild flora and fauna can now be accessed quickly, transparently, and in an integrated manner. The presence of this online platform simultaneously reduces bureaucracy and significantly cuts the time required for document issuance.

The issuance process for domestic transport permits (SATS-DN), which previously took between 1 to 3 months, has now been reduced to just 1 to 3 working days. Meanwhile, an even more significant reduction in time has occurred for international transport permits (SATS-LN) involving exports, imports, re-exports, and conservation institutions; processes that previously required 1 to 7 days are now completed in just 60 minutes.
