Jakarta — The Indonesian government has suspended all Board of Peace (BoP) talks in response to the war between the United States and Zionist Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The US-Israeli aggression against Tehran has provoked Iranian retaliation against Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories and targeted Gulf Arab states that host US military bases.

Indonesia has also been urged to immediately withdraw from BoP in light of the fact that the United States and Israel, as chairs, as well as BoP members who carried out offensive aggression against Iran. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang said that President Prabowo has not withdrawn Indonesia’s participation from US President Donald Trump’s BoP.

The government continues to reassess Indonesia’s continued membership in the Board of Peace for Gaza, Palestine. This includes Indonesia’s assessment of assisting people in Gaza, but with a consideration of the wide-ranging impact of the US-Zionist attacks on Iran in recent times.

“We say that we continue to conduct a thorough assessment of various developments in the region, especially those occurring in the Middle East,” Yvonne said in Jakarta, Friday 6 March 2026.

Given the situation, Yvonne said, Indonesia has suspended all BoP-related agendas abroad. “All discussions of the Board of Peace should be suspended, or its terms put on hold,” Yvonne said.

According to her, all meetings, discussions, and international forums discussing BoP have been suspended. “There has been no meeting or special discussion of the Board of Peace in the past week. And as we said, all current BoP-related discussions are on hold,” Yvonne said.

Nevertheless, Indonesia remains a member of the BoP. There has been no decision arising from the presidential-level assessment to exclude Indonesia from participation in the Peace Council for Gaza and Palestine.

“Our participation in the Board of Peace remains consistent in supporting stability and reconstruction in Palestine,” Yvonne said.
