Jakarta — The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has recorded that the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis, MBG) programme has reached 61.62 million beneficiaries by 9 March 2026, with budget realisation reaching IDR 44 trillion.

Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara explained that this figure is based on the latest developments recorded after the end of February 2026.

The programme is implemented through more than 25,000 Nutrition Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG) distributed across various regions in Indonesia.

“By 9 March 2026, 61.6 million beneficiaries are served by more than 25,000 SPPGs,” said Suahasil during the APBN KiTA February 2026 press conference on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

“The budget absorption realisation reached IDR 44 trillion. This IDR 44 trillion figure should be the March figure. The February figure was IDR 39 trillion, and the realisation of IDR 44 trillion is for the 9 March figure,” Suahasil said.

The MBG programme has reached beneficiaries across various regions of Indonesia, including Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan. The beneficiary figures now touch 50 million students distributed across various areas.

“Around 50 million students in February and 10.5 million non-student beneficiaries, including pregnant women, nursing mothers, and some elderly people who also receive nutritious meals. The non-student data is 10.5 million,” he explained.

Suahasil added that the MBG programme will continue to be implemented with attention to good governance and efficient budget utilisation.
