Ministry of Finance Distributes Holiday Allowance to 2 Million Employees and 3.6 Million Retirees

Jakarta – The Ministry of Finance has to date distributed religious holiday allowances (THR) to 2,093,225 employees at central and regional levels and 3,618,884 retirees.

The Head of Communications and Information Bureau of the Ministry of Finance, Deni Surjantoro, stated in writing on Tuesday in Jakarta that as of 10 March 2026, THR funds for central government employees totalling Rp11.16 trillion had been paid to 2,076,377 employees and personnel.

The breakdown of fund allocation included Rp6.12 trillion for 825,928 civil servants, Rp752.8 billion for 295,054 contract-based government employees (PPPK), Rp1.84 trillion for 461,119 police personnel, Rp2.23 trillion for 452,874 military personnel, and Rp153.42 billion for 39,486 non-civil servant government employees (PPNPN).

THR payments for central government employees were processed through 8,279 government ministry and agency work units.

Meanwhile, Rp127.6 billion in THR funds for regional government employees as of 9 March 2026 had been distributed to 16,848 employees by three of 546 regional governments (0.54 per cent).

The Ministry of Finance has also distributed Rp11.54 trillion in THR funds to 3,618,884 retirees (94.63 per cent). PT Taspen distributed Rp10.1 trillion to 3,115,324 retirees (94.02 per cent) whilst PT Asabri distributed Rp1.44 trillion to 503,560 retirees (99.13 per cent).

The government has allocated Rp55 trillion to provide THR to central government employees, regional government employees, contract-based government employees, military personnel, police personnel, and retirees in 2026.

The Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the government allocation for THR in 2026 has increased by approximately 10 per cent from Rp49 trillion in the previous year.

The government released THR funds for employees in phases beginning 26 February 2026 until a maximum of seven days before Eid celebrations.
