Ministry of Finance channels additional 4.4 trillion rupiah regional funds to three disaster-affected provinces
Jakarta — The Ministry of Finance has distributed an additional regional transfer fund (TKD) allocation of 4.39 trillion rupiah to three disaster-affected provinces in Sumatra at the end of February 2026.
The supplementary TKD allocation was provided to 67 regions across the three provinces that were directly impacted by disaster, as well as to neighbouring regions affected by the disaster’s ripple effects, which experienced a reduction in TKD for the 2026 fiscal year compared to 2025 allocations.
“The utilisation of this additional TKD assistance is aimed at supporting local governments in post-disaster recovery, whilst also utilising funding from the central government through emergency response, rehabilitation and reconstruction programmes,” explained Deni Surjantoro, Head of the Communication and Information Service Bureau at the Ministry of Finance, in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The policy was established through Ministry of Finance Decree No. 59 of 2026 regarding the Adjustment of Details of Allocation and Distribution of Revenue-Sharing Funds (DBH), General Allocation Funds (DAU), and Special Autonomy Funds (Otsus) for the 2026 fiscal year and the distribution of underpayment funds for revenue-sharing from the 2024 fiscal year to certain regions in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra provinces.
The increase in TKD for each region will be implemented in stages until the difference in total TKD allocation reduction between the 2026 and 2025 budgets is covered, following a Presidential Instruction, through additional revenue-sharing funds, general allocation funds, and special autonomy funds.
The Ministry of Finance has planned the distribution of this additional TKD in three phases: 40 percent in February, and 30 percent each in March and April.
Previously, as an initial step to support disaster management and recovery, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa also arranged a relaxation of TKD distribution and use in disaster-affected regions through Ministry of Finance Regulation 102 of 2025.
