Ministry of Finance Absorbs Rp 12 Trillion from Sukuk Auction
The Ministry of Finance announced the results of the auction of State Sharia Securities (SBSN) or State Sukuk on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. The total investor offers received from this week’s sukuk auction amounted to Rp 21.19 trillion. The series of SBSN auctioned were the SPN-S (State Treasury Bills-Sharia) and PBS (Project Based Sukuk) series. “The total nominal value won from the eight series offered is Rp 12 trillion,” as quoted from the website of the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance, on Wednesday, 6 May 2026. Investor interest in this week’s sukuk auction was slightly lower compared to the previous auction. In the sukuk auction on 21 April 2026, the total incoming bids reached Rp 33.5 trillion, and the government decided to award Rp 15 trillion. The eight series offered this week are previously issued bond series (reopening). Among them are the SPNS01062026, SPNS12102026, SPNS03022027, PBS030, PBS040, PBS034, PBS005, and PBS038 series. The most sought-after series were PBS038 and SPNS03022027, with incoming offers of Rp 4.273 trillion and Rp 4.205 trillion, respectively. The purpose of the auction is to fulfil part of the financing target in the 2026 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). With an indicative target of Rp 12 trillion, the maximum that can be awarded is up to 200 per cent. Government bond offerings are part of budget financing and also bridge the APBN deficit this year, which is targeted at Rp 689.1 trillion. Based on the 2026 state revenue and expenditure budget law or the APBN Law number 17 of 2025, debt financing this year is targeted at Rp 832.2 trillion. The figure is an increase compared to last year’s target of Rp 775.9 trillion.
