Ministry of ESDM: IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 to Drive Clean Energy Across ASEAN
Jakarta — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has stated that the IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 event will drive the acceleration of clean energy across ASEAN amid evolving global energy geopolitical dynamics.
“We hope this year’s IndoEBTKE ConEx will be larger and better, whilst serving as a collaborative space for all stakeholders to continue advancing new renewable energy development in Indonesia,” said Eniya Listiani Dewi, Director General of New Energy, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) at the Ministry of ESDM, in a statement issued in Jakarta on Saturday.
Eniya emphasised that Indonesia’s potential for new renewable energy is substantial and must be continuously optimised to strengthen national energy security whilst reducing emissions.
Solar energy potential, for instance, is estimated to reach approximately 3,200 gigawatts, making it one of the strategic clean energy sources that should be prioritised for future development.
She therefore underscored the importance of synergy among various parties in accelerating energy transition. The IndoEBTKE ConEx is viewed as an important opportunity to bring together government, industry players, academics, and society in strengthening collaboration whilst showcasing various achievements in new renewable energy development in Indonesia.
Eniya also stressed that beyond developing new renewable energy, energy conservation aspects must continue to be strengthened as part of sustainable energy transition efforts.
“Besides promoting new renewable energy development, we also need to strengthen energy conservation efforts through the implementation of energy management and energy efficiency across various sectors, so that energy consumption becomes more economical, efficient, and contributes to emission reductions,” she stated.
She hopes IndoEBTKE ConEx will serve as a platform to elevate energy conservation as an important part of the energy transition agenda in Indonesia.
The Ministry of ESDM, through the Directorate General of New Energy, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), together with key stakeholders in the clean energy sector, has formally launched the 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026.
Entering its 12th edition, the forum will take place on 2-4 September 2026 at Jiexpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Carrying the theme “Turning Ambition into Action: Accelerating Clean Energy Transition in Indonesia and ASEAN”, The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 affirms Indonesia’s commitment to accelerating clean energy transition implementation through regional collaboration, technological innovation, and strengthening green investment.
Amid increasingly complex global geopolitical dynamics—from energy price fluctuations and uncertainty in global energy supply chains to mounting climate change pressures—new renewable energy development and energy conservation have become strategic priorities that must be promoted.
The transition towards cleaner, self-reliant, and sustainable energy systems is an important part of long-term energy resilience and economic stability strategy. In this context, Indonesia and ASEAN nations have significant opportunities to capitalise on this momentum through strengthened regional cooperation, accelerated clean energy investment, and development of more efficient and sustainable energy technology.
The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 serves as a strategic collaboration platform that drives the transformation of energy transition ambitions into concrete actions with impact for the region.
Zulfan Zahar, Chairman of the Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (METI), emphasised the importance of cross-sector collaboration in accelerating renewable energy development.
“Through The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026, we are promoting stronger synergy between government, the private sector, and international partners to build an innovative, inclusive, and globally competitive clean energy ecosystem,” he said.
He again underscored that this forum will be an important catalyst for accelerating energy transition across the region.
