Ministry of Environment Inaugurates RKKIK to Support Cross-Sector Synergy in Addressing Climate Change

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Environment (KLH) has officially inaugurated the re-operationalisation of the Climate and Carbon Collaboration and Consultation House (RKKIK) to enhance cross-sectoral synergy in climate change control efforts.

In a statement from Jakarta on Thursday, the Minister of Environment (LH) Moh Jumhur Hidayat stated that the success of the climate agenda relies heavily on cross-sectoral synergy. “The success of the climate agenda is determined not only by the quality of the policies we formulate, but also by our ability to build a collaborative ecosystem capable of connecting knowledge, data, resources, and real action on the ground,” he said.

Consequently, he noted, RKKIK serves as a shared home for all stakeholders to discuss, consult, share experiences, and build synergy in achieving national climate objectives. RKKIK is not merely a physical space but also a collaborative platform that brings together various ideas, innovations, and solutions to address climate change challenges while strengthening low-carbon development in Indonesia.

“RKKIK must be a meeting point for ideas, knowledge, experience, and solutions to address the various climate change challenges we face together. I hope RKKIK can become a centre for knowledge, consultation, collaboration, and innovation that can tangibly support Indonesia’s climate agenda,” said Jumhur.

He explained that RKKIK is designed as a platform for consultation, communication, information, and education, bridging the needs of the central government, regional governments, the business world, academics, the community, and development partners in the implementation of climate and carbon policies.

“RKKIS is an important instrument to strengthen the effectiveness of achieving NDC targets and the implementation of Carbon Economic Value in Indonesia. Through consultancy services, capacity building, advocacy, technical services, and cooperation, RKKIK is expected to strengthen the understanding, capacity, and collaboration of all stakeholders,” he added.

RKKIK is expected to serve as a service and collaboration centre for various strategic climate and carbon agendas, ranging from climate change mitigation and adaptation, the implementation of Carbon Economic Value, the National Registry System for Climate Change Control (SRN PPI), the Carbon Unit Registry System (SRUK), to the facilitation of various international climate cooperation and funding.
