Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Achievement Centre (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has reminded students of several requirements that must be met ahead of the registration deadline for the Indonesia Talenta Scholarship on 2 May.

Cicilia Devita Andini, the Programme Coordinator for the Indonesia Talenta Scholarship at the Ministry, stated that not all certificates obtained from competitions can be included in the selection process for the Indonesia Talenta Scholarship.

“This comes back to the main point, as many talented friends have achievements, but the primary requirement is that friends must first participate in competitions that have been curated by Puspresnas,” said Cicilia during the Puspresnas Instagram broadcast: Exploring the Golden Opportunities of the Indonesia Talenta Scholarship in Jakarta on Friday.

Furthermore, she explained that certificates from these curated competitions must be at least at the national or international level, with achievements of gold, silver, or bronze medals.

For international competitions included in Puspresnas’s curated list, Cicilia added that students can also submit certificates with an Honorable Mention.

“So, once friends meet the main requirements, when registering, they can certainly list other achievements obtained from other competitions, but those other competitions must also be curated. The note is that the competitions friends participate in have been curated by the National Achievement Centre,” she said.

Regarding the responsibilities of scholarship recipients, she emphasised that the Indonesia Talenta Scholarship follows the scheme implemented by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP).

Therefore, she continued, the recipients are required to return to the homeland after completing their respective studies and to serve for a minimum of twice the duration of their studies.

“The service is 2N, as determined by LPDP, and currently we are following LPDP’s regulations. Of course, the state expects friends to return to Indonesia and contribute to this nation,” she said.
