Ministry of Education Opens Opportunity for Schools to Nominate Indonesia Smart Programme Recipients
Jakarta – The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is opening an opportunity for educational institutions to nominate recipients of the Indonesia Smart Programme (PIP) educational financing assistance for 2026.
Andhika Ganendra, Head of the Centre for Education Financing Services (Puslapdik) at Kemendikdasmen, stated that the ministry is currently processing the policy proposal. “I am therefore proposing to the Secretary-General to expand the policy so that schools can also submit nominations. If someone is overlooked by the local government or parliament, the school can then nominate them,” Andhika said in South Tangerang on Monday.
He made the remarks following a presentation at the Kemendikdasmen Policy Dialogue event in South Tangerang City, Banten Province.
Andhika noted that the number of PIP recipients is substantial, reaching approximately 20 million students. However, in some cases, PIP recipients are unaware that they are entitled to receive the educational assistance, causing the funds to revert to the state treasury when not claimed.
For this reason, he expressed hope that the policy proposal would enhance accountability and effectiveness in PIP fund distribution. Secretary-General of Kemendikdasmen Suharti previously stated that the PIP represents the Government’s commitment to ensuring educational sustainability for students, particularly those from economically disadvantaged families.
The ministry hopes that PIP assistance utilisation will be timely and well-targeted. “We hope the PIP can be utilised to the best extent possible. Do not delay account activation so that PIP funds can be used promptly to support students’ learning needs,” Suharti said.
In addition to the SIPINTAR application, students can independently check their PIP recipient status through the official PIP portal by:
Visit the website pip.kemendikdasmen.go.id
Find the “Search PIP Recipient” box
Enter the National Student Registration Number (NISN) and National Identity Number (NIK)
Type the answer to the requested number calculation
Click “Check PIP Recipient”
The PIP recipient status will appear automatically, including disbursement status.
