Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has reminded all parties involved in the National Science Olympiad (OSN) selection series, which will begin next week, to ensure that it runs with full integrity and honesty.
Secretary General of Kemendikdasmen, Suharti, said that his party had prepared a better and more concrete OSN monitoring system this year.
“The implementation will begin in just one week. We would like to convey to the participants, schools, and local governments that each stage of the OSN should be carried out with full integrity and honesty, as in our tagline, honesty is the key to winning,” said Suharti at an event titled “Strengthening the Governance of the National Science Olympiad Talent Competition” in Jakarta, Thursday.
Furthermore, she said that this year’s science competition is ready to select the best talents from the basic education to secondary education levels, with several crucial system updates.
In addition, she added, the monitoring mechanism and the use of technology-based examination platforms have also been tightened to maintain the integrity of a fair and transparent competition throughout the region.
For information, the entire series of OSN selections at each level of education will begin simultaneously in June, from the district/city level to the national final round.
In the implementation of the OSN for the primary education level and equivalent, the district/city level selection will be held on June 8, which will be attended by a maximum of five students per competition branch per school.
Meanwhile, in the implementation of the OSN for the junior high school level and equivalent, the district/city level selection will be held on June 11, 2026, which will be attended by a maximum of five students per competition branch per school.
The OSN for junior high school level will also hold the national final round on August 25-31, 2026, with a total of 115 participants per competition branch.
As for the OSN for senior high school level, the district/city level selection will be held on June 18-19. The OSN for senior high school level will hold the national final round on September 14-20, 2026, with a total of 60 participants per competition branch.
