Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Character Strengthening Center (Puspeka) of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is holding the “Rukun Sama Teman” (Get Along with Friends) Song and Dance Creation Competition to strengthen the implementation of safe and comfortable schools by fostering positive values and culture in students’ daily lives.

Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, emphasized that the value of harmony is an important message in shaping the character of Indonesian children.

“‘Rukun Sama Teman’ is a message from the President during the launch of the digitalization program. He conveyed a message to Indonesian children to study well, love their parents, respect teachers, get along with friends, and love the Indonesian nation,” said Minister Abdul Mu’ti in Jakarta on Thursday.

He said that this message has been adopted as the theme of the song and jingle to build a culture of safe and comfortable schools.

He explained that the event features six main categories, namely Song and Dance, Choir, Band, Creative Choreography Idea Challenge, Animation Video Clip, and Short Video.

The competition is open to students from all levels of education, from Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to Senior High School/Vocational School (SMA/SMK), Special Needs Schools (SLB) throughout Indonesia, and even Indonesian Schools Abroad (SILN).

Through an inclusive and participatory approach, they provide ample space for Indonesian children to express the values of togetherness and mutual respect through artistic creativity and digital works.

At the same opportunity, the Head of Puspeka, Rusprita Putri Utami, said that the competition is not just a competition, but a strategy to strengthen positive culture in schools.

Rusprita further said that active participation of schools in this event is a concrete form of implementing policies that place the values of empathy, collaboration, and mutual respect as the main foundation of the learning process.

With a total appreciation of Rp112.5 million, they invite all schools to participate actively and make this competition a joint movement in building a generation of Indonesians who are well-behaved, harmonious, and respectful of each other.
