Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Defence has released 2,000 civil servants (ASN) from 49 ministries and agencies to participate in training as reserve components (Komcad). The release of these 2,000 ASN took place at the southern side of Monas field in Central Jakarta on Monday. The Head of the National Reserve Agency of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General TNI Gabriel Lema, stated that this Komcad training is intended to cultivate a spirit of nationalism among the ASN. According to him, a high level of nationalism is an essential foundation for carrying out duties as civil servants and public servants. “Thus, in any situation, whether the country is in a state of safety and peace or in certain conditions, this fundamental spirit of national defence is aligned, even though the proportions of professional responsibilities differ,” said Gabriel during a press conference. Gabriel explained that the 2,000 ASN will undergo education for 1.5 months. They will be distributed to several military education facilities, including Pusdikkes, Skadik 301, Pusbahasa AU, Kodam Jaya, and Pasmari 1 Marinir Cilandak. There, the ASN will receive basic military training with various materials. The materials selected by the instructors, Gabriel continued, are specifically designed to shape the mentality, character, and discipline of the ASN. After completing the 1.5-month education, the Ministry of Defence will open the second wave of Komcad education for another 2,000 ASN. With this Komcad education, Gabriel hopes that all ASN will have the same spirit and nationalist soul in carrying out state duties.
