Ministry of Defence Implements Fuel Efficiency Measures
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Defence (Kemhan), together with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), is preparing efficiency measures for fuel oil (BBM) usage to anticipate global geopolitical dynamics that could impact energy stability.
The Head of the Defence Information Bureau (Karo Infohan) of the General Secretariat (Setjen) of Kemhan, Brigadier General (Brigjen) TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, in an official press release received in Jakarta on Monday, stated that these anticipatory steps align with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto, who emphasises the importance of proactive measures and national efficiency.
“The prepared measures include more effective and priority-based resource usage arrangements, including in defence equipment operations and official mobility,” Rico said in the press release.
Several fuel efficiency policies include adjusting workdays from five to four days for certain functions, regulating defence equipment usage based on priority indices and operational needs, and limiting the use of official vehicles and employee shuttle transport while still considering task implementation effectiveness.
Rico emphasised that these efficiency steps represent readiness and discipline in managing strategic resources, not due to an emergency situation.
He also assured that the national energy reserves are currently in a safe condition.
“Through these steps, Kemhan and TNI invite all elements to jointly strengthen national resilience by prioritising efficiency, responsibility, and the spirit of national defence,” Rico explained.
