Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Defence (Kemhan) has stated that prospective managers of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDMP) and Red and White Fishermen’s Villages (KNMP) will receive various materials during the Reserve Component (Komcad) basic military training (latsarmil).
“Through the Komcad latsarmil, participants are equipped with knowledge and values of discipline, leadership, teamwork, integrity, a spirit of service, and a strong work ethic,” said Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of the Defence Information Bureau at the Ministry of Defence Secretariat General, when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to Rico, this material is important to strengthen the leadership, discipline, and national insight of the participants in carrying out their duties at KDMP and KNMP.
In addition, participants will receive managerial material and field competencies developed jointly with the relevant technical ministries. Participants will also undergo basic military training as provided to Reserve Component members in general.
The entire training series is one of the requirements before participants carry out their duties at KDMP and KNMP.
Rico stated that the number of participants in the programme totals 35,476 people, consisting of 30,000 prospective KDMP managers and 5,476 prospective KNMP managers. They will attend the 45-day Reserve Component training at 67 Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) units spread across Indonesia.
“The discipline training is conducted for 30 days, followed by managerial training for 15 days,” he said.
According to Rico, the training is expected to improve discipline, spirit of service, and the capacity of the managers so they can carry out their duties optimally in supporting community services.
