Ministry of Defence and Indonesian Air Force Dispatch Hundreds of PPEs and Masks for Forest Fire Mitigation in South Kalimantan
The Indonesian Ministry of Defence and the Indonesian Air Force Health Centre (Puskes TNI AU) have dispatched hundreds of pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) and masks for personnel involved in forest and land fire (karhutla) mitigation in South Kalimantan.
“This logistical support strengthens the safety and readiness of personnel serving in the field,” stated the Commander of Sjamsudin Noor Air Base, Colonel Pnb Hilman L.P. Ambarita, in Banjarbaru on Sunday.
The logistics include 500 packages of PPE from the Indonesian Ministry of Defence and two packages of masks from the Indonesian Air Force Health Centre.
Upon arrival at Sjamsudin Noor Air Base, all aid was immediately received and prepared for distribution to support the needs of personnel involved in handling forest and land fires in the South Kalimantan region.
The Air Base Commander stated that the arrival of this aid is a vital part of the logistical support for forest fire management operations.
In addition to strengthening operational readiness, the availability of PPE and masks is a primary concern, given that field personnel are directly exposed to smoke, heat, and challenging terrain.
Hilman emphasised that the safety of personnel must be the priority in every execution of fire-extinguishing duties.
He ensured that Sjamsudin Noor Air Base will continue to guarantee that air transport support, logistics reception, and other operational needs can proceed effectively.
“The synergy and coordination of all elements continue to be strengthened, including air support, which plays a crucial role in ensuring that operational needs can be met swiftly,” he added.
