Ministry of Culture Supports Energy Efficiency in the Workplace
The Ministry of Culture held a Reflection and Strengthening of the Ethos for Cultural Advancement for Ministry of Culture civil servants as a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s instructions in supporting energy efficiency, held at the Graha Utama Room, Ministry of Culture Complex, Jakarta.
In his speech, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon stated that the Eid al-Fitr moment is an important opportunity to strengthen relationships among fellow human beings while reaffirming the intention to work for the advancement of culture, especially in implementing energy efficiency that is being carried out together. Fadli Zon hopes that all these efforts become part of service to society and advancing culture.
Fadli also reminded that the world is currently facing various global uncertainties, including geopolitical dynamics that impact the energy and economic sectors. Therefore, Ministry of Culture civil servants are urged to be sensitive to such situations, including by applying efficiency principles in carrying out tasks and work programmes.
“We must have a sense of crisis towards the current global situation. Efficiency, including in energy use and work patterns, needs to be implemented by us, among others through more adaptive work schemes such as work from home at certain times, so that performance remains optimal while being responsive to developing conditions,” said Fadli Zon in a written statement, Wednesday (1/4/2026).
Furthermore, Fadli emphasised the importance of reflection and strengthening of work ethos in driving the acceleration of cultural advancement. He reminded that the Ministry of Culture must be able to become the main driving force in the national cultural ecosystem.
“Collaboration with various stakeholders, from local governments to cultural communities, is seen as the key to expanding the impact of cultural programmes,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Bambang Wibawarta, stated that this momentum is not just about maintaining relations, but also an opportunity to reflect and strengthen commitment to cultural advancement.
“Let us all strengthen the spirit of togetherness and synergise in carrying out sustainable cultural advancement tasks, and align our efforts for cultural advancement, through elaboration, collaboration, and our ancestral traditions,” said Bambang.
He said that this activity is an effort by the Ministry of Culture to continue driving the sustainable advancement of Indonesian culture, not only as a preservation effort, but also as a strategic force in addressing the challenges of the times.
“Strengthening work ethos, internal synergy, improving civil servant performance, and the ability to adapt to global dynamics become important parts in building an inclusive, resilient, and innovative cultural ecosystem,” he concluded.
The Reflection and Strengthening of the Ethos for Cultural Advancement event was also attended by Ministry of Culture officials, including Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha Djumaryo; Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Bambang Wibawarta; Inspector General of the Ministry of Culture, Fryda Lucyana; Director General of Cultural Protection and Traditions, Restu Gunawan; Director General of Diplomacy, Promotion, and Cultural Cooperation, Endah T.D. Retnoastuti; Director General of Development, Utilisation, and Cultural Development, Ahmad Mahendra; as well as officials and employees in the Ministry of Culture environment.
