Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya has emphasised to creative workers that artificial intelligence (AI) should be used with wise ethics and not to replace the human role in the creative process. “From the government, we see that AI is not to replace humans but to strengthen the results of their creativity. However, we must remember the ethics in using AI so that works created with difficulty using AI are not plagiarised irresponsibly,” said Riefky to the media at the Bekup Global Scale Up 2026 event in Jakarta on Tuesday. Riefky stated that creative workers can use AI as a work partner to produce better creative products. He also views the rapid development of AI as something that requires joint attention, and its ethical use must be continuously socialised. “Indeed, its development is very fast. Decades ago, when the internet first emerged, it took about a dozen years to become like the internet today. But with AI, the development is almost every moment. So this is something that must receive our collective attention,” he said. The Ministry of Creative Economy will also continue to coordinate with various ministries, one of which is the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi), to prepare the best regulations for AI implementation in Indonesia that remain relevant. He also reminded that the presence of AI should not be made a replacement for creators but as a tool to produce responsible creative works.
