Ministry of Creative Economy Supports Nuanu Creative City as Future Creative District

Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar supports Nuanu Creative City in Tabanan, Bali, as Indonesia’s future creative economy ecosystem that combines creative products based on art, nature, technology, and culture. “We see Nuanu Creative City not merely as a physical area, but as a tangible manifestation of Indonesia’s creative economy future,” Irene said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Sunday. Nuanu is a 44-hectare creative economy area in Bali built on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which maintains harmony between humans, God, and nature. “We are here to provide full support for the development of an area that can combine immersive experiences with a commitment to sustainable living,” she said. This area becomes a pioneer innovation centre that successfully unites modernity with Bali’s traditional values, as well as a global collaboration hub for artists to create works from eco-friendly materials. Irene stated that this area is concrete proof that digital technology and nature conservation can go hand in hand. “I am proud to see the works of the nation’s children that can compete at the world level without leaving local identity, from multimedia to conservation in the Magic Garden; everything is made to prosper the community while preserving the earth,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy. The presence of facilities like Nuanu Kids Academy, which provides free art education for local children, reinforces Nuanu’s role in strengthening cultural identity while boosting the international competitiveness of the creative industry. During her visit, Irene directly witnessed the integration of nature through the Earth Sentinels statue installation, AI multimedia at Aurora Media Park, and flora-fauna conservation in the Magic Garden. This review also included interactions with artisans in the Art Village, which serves as an educational space for traditional crafts for the local community. The Ministry of Creative Economy affirms its commitment to continue supporting the development of innovative creative zones based on environmental preservation in various regions of Indonesia. This initiative is expected to become a catalyst for the growth of more inclusive creative economy subsectors, while strengthening Indonesia’s position as a major player in the global sustainable creative industry.
