Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf) is exploring opportunities for collaboration with the owner of the Rizky Riplay animation channel to support the development of digital content based on local culture.

Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya, upon receiving a visit from the owner of Rizky Riplay at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta on Thursday (7/5), stated that the government is striving to support the development of content creation businesses based on local culture.

“We are exploring various collaboration opportunities to ensure that creators like Rizky Riplay can continue to level up,” he said, as quoted in the ministry’s press release on Friday.

“The focus is on discussing the integration of creativity and economic value so that local IP becomes a main player in the global entertainment industry,” he added.

In the meeting between the Creative Economy Minister and Rizky Riplay, opportunities for joint promotional collaborations and strengthening the legality of intellectual property (IP) were also discussed to increase the economic value of local works.

“The success of Rizky Riplay, which falls under the flagship subsector of film, animation, and video, must be replicated so that regional talents can strengthen their own local brands,” he said.

Rizky Riplay has successfully attracted around 13.9 million followers on its YouTube channel with animation content themed around horror comedy and Nusantara legends.

The channel operates under PT Riplay Kreatif Studio, which aims to provide a platform for local animators as well as internship opportunities for students and university students.

In the meeting with the Creative Economy Minister, representatives from Rizky Riplay highlighted the need for support to expand the distribution of works and the implementation of standardisation in the animation industry.

“We appreciate the opportunity to discuss with the Creative Economy Minister and welcome this communication space to explore various potential collaborations in the future for the advancement of the animation industry and the strengthening of local animators’ capacities,” said Founder of Rizky Riplay, Rizky Adidharma.
