Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is exploring collaboration opportunities with the technology company Meta to expand the reach of creative economy players to the international market, so that local works and talents become increasingly known and competitive on the global stage.

“Collaboration with platforms like Meta can help promote Indonesian creative works to become more global,” said Deputy Minister of Ekraf, Irene Umar, in an official statement received on Wednesday.

Irene stated that Kemenekraf wants the potential of Indonesia’s creative economy to be expanded to the international level, but domestically it must still be a champion that is people-oriented, increasingly close and understood by the wider community.

In the meeting with Meta representatives, potential cooperation was discussed, such as cross-country market trend data exchange, development of gamified learning-based creator training and Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as strengthening education on community guidelines for creative players, and homeless media to operate safely and responsibly in the digital space.

Head of Public Policy for Meta Indonesia and the Philippines, Berni Moestafa, assessed Indonesia as one of the markets with a high level of digital technology adoption, supported by the continuously developing creativity of users.

“Digital platform adoption in Indonesia is very strong, and we see users here are very creative in utilising technology, not only for communication but also for developing businesses. That creativity drives us to continue providing relevant solutions so that creators and business actors can grow and reach audiences more effectively,” said Berni.

In the discussion, Meta also conveyed its commitment to supporting the strengthening of creator capacity through various best practices in utilising digital platforms, from content creation strategies to understanding effective public communication.

“With this approach, we want to help creators develop more effectively and be able to maximise the potential of existing digital platforms,” said Imanuel.

Meta Indonesia is part of Meta Platforms, Inc., which manages various popular digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. In Indonesia, Meta plays a role in supporting the growth of the digital economy through technology development, empowering business actors, and strategic partnerships.

The high adoption of Meta platforms in Indonesia reflects the public’s enthusiasm for digital innovation while opening up significant opportunities for creators and businesses to develop.
