Ministry of Creative Economy: eVTOL Technology Can Drive Creative Economy Growth
The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Kemenekraf) believes that the initiative by Whitesky Group to introduce Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) technology supports the growth of the creative economy in Indonesia. Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology at Kemenekraf, Muhammad Neil El Himam, stated that eVTOL is not just about air transport technology, but also presents new opportunities for tourism, premium mobility services, public experience, infrastructure, talent, and a technology-based creative ecosystem. Speaking at the ‘Welcoming The Future of Air Mobility’ event at Cengkareng Heliport in Tangerang, Banten, he appreciated the collaboration between technology, creativity, and innovation in building the future of Indonesian transportation. He noted that introducing the future of air mobility through Advanced Air Mobility, Urban Air Mobility, and eVTOL technology to various national stakeholders can help boost the domestic economy, adding that discussions must involve multiple sectors, not just the aviation industry. He mentioned that air mobility technology not only brings innovation to the transport sector but also has the potential to create new economic opportunities, strengthen national competitiveness, encourage the emergence of superior talent, and open wider collaboration between the technology, creative industries, education, and transport sectors. Founder and CEO of Whitesky Group, Denon Prawiraatmadja, said that the development of Urban Air Mobility should be viewed as part of future economic transformation, emphasising the importance of collaboration between technology, creativity, and innovation in building Indonesia’s transport future. He added that Indonesia has significant capital to develop the Urban Air Mobility ecosystem, given its high connectivity needs, strength in tourism, creative economy, and large domestic market. Whitesky Group assesses that the development of Urban Air Mobility can present various new opportunities, ranging from airport-to-city connectivity, premium mobility services, tourism destination development, future logistics services, to various technology-based business models that have yet to widely develop in Indonesia.
