Ministry of Creative Economy Boosts Exposure for Creative Industry
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy facilitated actor Sung Kang, known for his role in the film “Fast & Furious”, to conduct a Night Drive activity in Jakarta as part of efforts to increase exposure for the domestic creative industry. The actor from the film “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” visited iconic locations such as the National Monument (Monas) area and the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout during the Night Drive in Jakarta on Monday (11/5). As quoted in the ministry’s press release on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar stated that the presence of global public figures like Sung Kang can help boost exposure for Indonesia’s creative industry. Sung Kang’s visit to Jakarta is related to his new film project titled “Drifter.” The film, directed and starring Sung Kang, tells the story of a race track official in a remote desert city who has a talent for drifting. Irene remarked that visits by global figures like Sung Kang to Jakarta can also open up collaboration opportunities for Indonesian creative industry players. The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to bridge industry players to establish collaborations aimed at developing businesses. “In short, the creative economy is a matchmaking agency or matchmaker, because with the right match, it can change lives for the better,” said Irene.
