Ministry of Communication and Digital reports 19 electronic system providers have submitted self-assessments for child protection compliance
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) has revealed that as of Monday (8/6), 19 electronic system providers (PSE) have submitted self-assessments to ensure compliance with the provisions of Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of Electronic System Provision in Child Protection (PP Tunas).
Meutya stated that this figure includes PSEs that manage eight major platforms, namely Instagram, Threads, Facebook, BigoLive, X, YouTube, TikTok, and Roblox. “This marks exactly three months since the first Ministerial Regulation was issued in March 2026; we have just been reported that there are currently around 19 PSEs, totalling 68 PLF (product, service, and feature) units,” Meutya said in Jakarta on Monday.
For PSEs that have not yet met the self-assessment requirements regarding their service risk profiles under PP Tunas, Meutya expressed hope that they would immediately report their assessment results to the government. “We certainly hope they report and submit their self-assessments promptly. For those who have submitted, we will carefully evaluate their risk profiles,” she added.
Under the implementing regulations of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 regarding the Governance of Electronic System Provision in Child Protection (PP Tunas), these self-evaluation provisions apply to all PSEs operating in Indonesia, regardless of whether their service scope is global or local. The results of the self-evaluations from each PSE will subsequently be re-evaluated by the Government through a dedicated team within the Ministry of Communication and Digital. Should any PSE fail to meet the self-evaluation requirements in line with PP Tunas for protecting children in the digital space, the Government will enforce regulations in accordance with applicable laws.
