Ministry of Communication and Digital Handles 4.1 Million Negative Contents Until 15 April 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) has recorded handling 4,198,606 negative contents from 20 October 2024 until 15 April 2026.
The Director General of Digital Space Supervision at Kemkomdigi, Alexander Sabar, in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday, emphasised that this handling represents the state’s presence in protecting society from illegal content.
“The achievement of the 4.1 million content figure is not merely a statistic, but tangible evidence of the state’s presence in protecting society from the destructive impact of illegal content,” said Alexander.
In line with the aspect of industry protection, violations of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) were recorded at 9,217 cases, the majority occurring on websites (9,095 contents) and social media (122 contents).
The achievement in handling negative content has received appreciation from the Indonesian Video Streaming Association (AVISI) as an effort to strengthen digital space security and protect the creative industry. The ministry continues to strengthen collaboration with various parties, including sector associations such as AVISI, to ensure that the digital space is not only productive but also safe from legal violations.
AVISI General Chairman Hermawan Sutanto expressed appreciation for the government’s steps. These efforts provide a strong signal that the government is serious about protecting society while maintaining the sustainability of the creative industry.
“For the streaming industry, intellectual property rights protection is not just a legal issue, but the main foundation for digital economic growth and the sustainability of creators,” said Hermawan.
AVISI Deputy Chairman Darmawan Zaini affirmed support for the government’s firm actions in addressing illegal content in the digital space. For AVISI, these efforts serve as a strong signal that Indonesia is serious about protecting society while strengthening the sustainability of the creative industry.
From the perspective of streaming platforms, intellectual property rights protection is the main foundation in building a healthy, safe, and competitive digital ecosystem.
