The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has severed access to 3,452,000 online gambling sites between 20 October 2024 and 16 May 2026. This was announced by the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, during a meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 18 May 2026.

Meutya stated that, based on data from the Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) for 2025, the turnover of online gambling funds has experienced a decline of up to 30 per cent. The turnover reached Rp286 trillion, a significant drop from the previous year’s figure of Rp400 trillion.

Furthermore, the Minister noted that Komdigi has also submitted requests to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to block 25,214 bank accounts linked to online gambling throughout 2025. “This means we are not only cutting off digital access but also requesting the freezing of more than 25,000 bank accounts through the OJK for the year 2025,” Meutya explained.
