Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Centre for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin) of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has launched the Bug Bounty 2026 Programme as part of its commitment to strengthening digital system security in the national education environment. Through Bug Bounty 2026, Pusdatin encourages members of the education community not only to be users but also part of the solution to information security challenges. Head of Pusdatin Kemendikdasmen, Wibowo Mukti, in Jakarta on Thursday, emphasised that the programme is designed as a safe space (sandbox) for participants to explore security testing techniques without impacting Kemendikdasmen’s services. “This programme can serve as a bridge to turn passion in cybersecurity into proud achievements,” said Wibowo. He explained that participant registration will open from 6 to 30 April 2026 via the Aman Bersama platform at https://amanbersama.kemendikdasmen.go.id, followed by the testing phase from 1 to 22 May 2026. Evaluation, he said, will be conducted in two stages: the first focusing on technical aspects weighted at 70 per cent based on the CVSS v3.1 standard, while the reporting aspect carries 30 per cent weight. In the second stage, five finalists from each category will undergo interviews, with assessment comprising testing techniques (60 per cent), communication (20 per cent), and originality (20 per cent). The series of events will conclude with the Bug Bounty 2026 Awards on 19 June 2026. Wibowo invited all members of the education community interested in cybersecurity to participate in the Bug Bounty 2026 event. He also stressed the importance of collaboration in facing increasingly complex cyber threats. Wibowo highlighted the rise in ransomware and AI-based phishing attacks throughout 2025. He added that winners will receive development funds, certificates recorded at the National Achievement Centre (Puspresnas), and opportunities to join the Manggala Edu community.
