Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Strengthens Inclusive Education in Special Schools through 7 KAIH
In SLB, this approach must be tailored to the needs of each child, moving from equality towards equity. Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is strengthening inclusive education in Special Schools (SLB) through the implementation of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children (7 KAIH) to promote independence and character building for students with special needs. This effort is being carried out through the Webinar Solutions (Socialisation and Discussion) Series on Best Practices, serving as a platform for sharing innovations and inspirational experiences from educational units in various regions. Special Staff to the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) for Inclusive Education and Equitable Education in Underdeveloped, Frontier, and Outermost Areas, Rita Pranawati, stated in a written statement in Jakarta on Sunday that the implementation of 7 KAIH in SLB requires an adaptive and inclusive approach. She also emphasised the importance of cross-sector collaboration in supporting fair and quality educational services for students with disabilities. According to her, opportunities for strengthening inclusive education are increasingly open with rising public awareness and government policy support. In line with this, the Head of the Centre for Character Strengthening (Puspeka) at Kemendikdasmen, Rusprita Putri Utami, stated that the activity serves as a strategic space to identify, document, and disseminate best practices in implementing 7 KAIH in SLB. On the same occasion, the Director of Special Education and Special Services Education at Kemendikdasmen, Saryadi, also underscored the importance of strengthening a sustainable ecosystem for special education services. βThe implementation of 7 KAIH in special schools is part of a holistic educational intervention that considers cognitive, social-emotional, independence, and life skills aspects for students with special needs,β said Saryadi.
