Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) strengthens collaboration between the central government and regional authorities on the implementation of a school culture that is safe and comfortable through a Webinar on Socialisation and Discussion of Ministerial Regulation No. 6 of 2026 on Safe and Comfortable School Culture (BSAN).

The socialisation was attended by heads of provincial/regency/city Education Offices and related local government elements, including the Regional Secretary (Sekda), the Regional Development Planning Board (Bappeda), the Office for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), the Social Service, the Health Service, Population and Family Planning Control, and the Communications and Informatics Office (Diskominfo), as a form of strengthening cross-sector coordination in policy implementation at the regional level.

“Regulation this requires division of roles and responsibilities among the school community, local government, the ministry, and other stakeholders, including involvement of parents, the community, and media. We are building a collaborative ecosystem that strengthens each other and aligns with the spirit of #RukunSamaTeman,” said the Secretary General (Sesjen) of the Ministry Suharti in Jakarta on Thursday.

“We ensure all processes (handling) are implemented fairly and oriented toward the interests of children, with coaching, rehabilitation, and education, without ignoring the principle of protecting victims and the rights of children to receive education,” said Suharti.

On the same occasion, the Director General for Teachers, Education Personnel, and Education Leaders (Dirjen GTKPG) of the Ministry, Nunuk Suryani, said the success of BSAN implementation is greatly influenced by the central role of heads of schools as leaders, as well as change managers.

Director General for Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Middle Education (Dirjen PAUD Dasmen) of the Ministry, Gogot Suharwoto, added that in accordance with the mandate of Ministerial Regulation No. 6 of 2026, local governments have a crucial role in ensuring that the safe and comfortable school culture is implemented systematically and in a coordinated manner.

“Through the formation of the BSAN Working Group at the provincial and district/city levels no later than six months after the regulation is issued, with the Regional Secretary as chair and the head of the Education Office as coordinator, we ensure that this policy does not stop at the normative level but is integrated into planning, budgeting, and regional oversight,” Gogot Suharwoto said.
