Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education: Promotive approach to prevent violence in school environments
Padang (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) emphasises the importance of implementing a promotive and participatory approach to prevent all forms of violence within educational units.
“Our policy is to prevent violence through a promotive and participatory approach,” said the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, on Friday.
He stated this during a working visit to Padang Pariaman Regency, which included inaugurating emergency classrooms at Batang Anai State Elementary School 05 in Padang Pariaman Regency.
Kemendikdasmen stresses a humane approach to make children comfortable and create a joyful learning environment.
Kemendikdasmen has also issued Ministry Regulation No. 6 of 2026 on Safe and Comfortable School Culture as a government effort to strengthen the school ecosystem as a safe and comfortable environment.
“So, this regulation is about how we create a school environment that is physically safe, spiritually safe, intellectually safe, and socially safe,” he said.
Kemendikdasmen has also issued a joint circular with three ministers, namely the Minister of Education, the Minister of Religious Affairs, and the Minister of Home Affairs, regarding the reading of the Indonesian Student Pledge at every flag-raising ceremony. The five messages in the Indonesian Student Pledge are: learn well, love your father and mother, respect your teacher, live in harmony with your friends, and love our homeland Indonesia.
He explained that all the efforts undertaken by Kemendikdasmen are part of building a friendly culture, creating safe and comfortable schools so that children can learn well.
