Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education prepares follow-up Academic Ability Test for primary schools in Ternate after earthquake
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is preparing a follow-up schedule for the Academic Ability Test (TKA) at the primary school level for several educational units in Ternate City, North Maluku Province, after it was struck by an earthquake a few days ago.
Head of the Basic and Secondary Education Policy Agency (BKPDM) of Kemendikdasmen, Toni Toharudin, stated that so far, they have not received any complaints regarding the implementation of the TKA for primary education, except for several primary schools in Ternate City that initially requested a rescheduled TKA.
He mentioned that so far, they have recorded at least five schools in Ternate City requesting a follow-up TKA, with four of them being public schools, namely SD Negeri 76, SD Negeri 77, SD Negeri 78, SD Negeri 79, and one private school, SD GPM Tifure.
These five schools, he continued, will receive different follow-up TKA schedules based on waves.
“So there are five primary schools requesting a follow-up TKA, with different waves, but they have decided to submit a request for schedule relocation,” said Toni.
On a different occasion, at SMPN 16 Jakarta, the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, stated that some areas in North Maluku faced obstacles in conducting the TKA for primary education, scheduled from 20 to 30 April 2026.
He underlined that this scheduling is a follow-up TKA, not a repeated one.
