Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) will prepare a schedule for the academic ability test (TKA) at the primary education level as a follow-up for students affected by disasters, such as in parts of North Maluku. Speaking to reporters after launching the Inclusive Education Training Programme for 2026 at SMPN 16 Jakarta on Monday, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, revealed that parts of North Maluku experienced obstacles in conducting the TKA for primary education, scheduled from 20 to 30 April 2026. Abdul Mu’ti underlined that this scheduling is a follow-up TKA, not a repeat TKA. He stated that Kemendikdasmen has conducted data collection on schools wishing to carry out the follow-up TKA. Thus, the students only need to take the follow-up TKA at the designated time. “For example, if there is an aftershock earthquake, we schedule it as a follow-up exam, not a retake, but a follow-up exam,” said Abdul Mu’ti, emphasising. It is known that the 2026 TKA for primary schools is participated in by more than 4.4 million students from 175,000 educational units. The implementation of the TKA at the primary education level takes place from 20 to 30 April 2026, with the follow-up exam implementation from 11 to 17 May 2026. Meanwhile, the announcement of the TKA results for primary education will be carried out on 18-23 May 2026.
