Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education: Monthly TPG Disbursement Makes Teachers More Prosperous

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) states that the disbursement of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG), now conducted monthly, makes teachers more prosperous and attentive to their students.

Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti said that the acceleration of TPG distribution, now done every month, is intended to provide certainty to teachers regarding their rights.

“For us, the teacher allowance is not merely a figure in the budget, but a form of appreciation for the dedication of teachers who are present every day to educate the nation’s generation. With their rights fulfilled, we hope that teachers can focus more on teaching and providing the best educational services for students,” said Mendikdasmen Mu’ti in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The benefits of this accelerated disbursement are felt by one teacher at SDN Cipayung 01 Ciputat in South Tangerang City, Banten Province, Eros Rosidah, who has dedicated herself as a teacher for about eight years.

She began teaching at SDN Cipayung 01 Ciputat with the status of Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK) for the last three years.

In the context of teacher welfare, Eros views the TPG disbursement as having a positive impact, both financially and in terms of work motivation.

“Thank God, almost all teachers here have received TPG. With TPG, we also use the funds to help some students who need school supplies such as books, shoes, or bags. We are very pleased; besides serving as personal savings for us, TPG is also beneficial for our students,” said Eros.

A similar story was shared by Syamsuddin, who has dedicated himself as a teacher since 1999 and teaches at SDN Cipayung 01 Ciputat.

As one of the senior teachers, he sees teacher welfare as very important to support and improve the quality of education.

He considers the change in the TPG disbursement system from every three months to monthly as very helpful in financial management.

“Now it’s smoother because it’s received every month. Thank God, it really helps me both for family needs and personal development,” he said.

He added that the benefits of TPG are not only felt personally but also contribute to improving teaching quality, such as for continuing education and purchasing learning facilities like laptops.
