The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) is promoting the acceleration of dairy cattle farming investments in Central Java. This step aims to increase national milk production and the welfare of livestock farmers.

Investments are directed towards the development of integrated mega dairy cow farms. This programme is expected to meet domestic milk needs.

The Director General of Livestock and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture, Agung Suganda, conveyed this. Investments are seen as having a broad impact on the regional economy.

“With the development of dairy cows by PT Global Dairi Bersama, it is hoped to bring positive impacts. Including boosting the economy and community welfare,” said Agung at the Central Java Governor’s Office, Thursday, 16 April 2026.

The government ensures concrete support for farmers. Support includes financing, land, infrastructure, and absorption of production results.

National milk needs are estimated to reach 8.5 million tonnes in 2029. Current domestic production is still insufficient.

This situation opens opportunities for business expansion among farmers. Business scale and productivity are expected to continue increasing.

The investment is being carried out by PT Global Dairi Bersama in Brebes Regency. The development targets 30,000 dairy cows.

Production capacity is projected to reach 180,000 tonnes of milk per year. This project is part of strengthening the national dairy industry.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi expressed full support for the investment. Local government is urged to expedite on-site processes.

“As Governor, I state my full commitment to support this investment. We must move quickly,” said Luthfi.

He targets production to be achieved by 2027 at the latest. Groundbreaking is hoped to be carried out in May.

Brebes Regent Paramitha Widya Kusuma expressed appreciation for the investment. She views its impact as significant for the regional economy.

“This investment is a great opportunity for the people of Brebes. Especially in improving the economy and opening job opportunities,” she said.

Savoria Group CEO Ihsan Mulia Putri explained the investment concept. This project is designed as an integrated dairy cow farm.

“This development covers around 710 hectares of land. Production capacity is targeted at 180 thousand tonnes per year,” she said.

This investment also promotes environmental sustainability. Livestock waste is utilised to become organic fertiliser.

Development of fodder crops reaches 2,000 hectares per year. This programme empowers around 5,000 farmers.

In addition, fattening of dairy bull calves reaches 7,000 heads per year. This programme involves around 8,000 farmers.

The government states that this programme is part of the Acceleration of National Milk and Meat Production. This programme involves cross-ministerial and regional efforts.

This step opens business opportunities for farmers. Market certainty and production are expected to become stronger.
