Ministry of Agriculture Introduces CPO-to-B100 Bioreactor Technology at PENAS XVII
The Ministry of Agriculture introduced a plantation downstreaming warehouse featuring innovative bioreactor technology that can convert crude palm oil (CPO) into 100% biofuel (B100) during the 17th National Farmers and Fishermen’s Week (PENAS) in Gorontalo. The technology was presented by the Ministry’s Agency for Agricultural Assembly and Modernisation (BRMP), together with the Directorate General of Plantations and the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities. Head of BRMP Fadjry Djufry stated that the technology offers an alternative energy solution based on CPO to produce B100 biodiesel. “This innovation is a strategic step in driving the national energy transition using domestic resources, while reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels,” he said. He added that agricultural modernisation is no longer solely focused on increasing production, but also on downstream processing and technology utilisation to give plantation commodities higher added value. “Innovations like the CPO-to-B100 bioreactor are a clear example of how research and technology can meet national energy needs,” Fadjry stated. He noted that the presence of the Plantation Downstreaming Warehouse at PENAS XVII serves as an important platform to accelerate technology transfer to farmers, extension workers, and business actors across all regions.
