Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has confirmed that the export of processed dairy products to Vietnam serves as tangible proof of the competitiveness of the national livestock sector in the global market, while also driving increases in added value and the expansion of export access.

“This momentum is tangible proof that Indonesian dairy products are becoming increasingly competitive in the global market,” said I Ketut Wirata, Director of Public Veterinary Health at the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health of Kementan, in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.

During the send-off of processed dairy product exports by PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy in Bogor, I Ketut Wirata assured that the export to Vietnam represents a strategic step in strengthening the position of farmers and business actors, as well as enhancing the added value of the national livestock industry.

According to him, the export provides certainty in the absorption of fresh domestic milk, thereby ensuring that production is better absorbed and prices are more stable.

“This is reflected in the export performance that has continued to show an upward trend in recent years,” he stated.

Furthermore, he said that cumulatively, based on veterinary certificate issuance data, from 2023 to 2026, total national product exports have exceeded 11.9 million kilograms with a value reaching US$15.3 million.

In the last three years, export increases have also occurred to various countries such as Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Thailand, with the Philippines being the largest market.
