Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Declines Comment on Hotel Sultan Operations
Jakarta — The Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Ossy Dermawan has stated that the ministry will not comment regarding Hotel Sultan’s continued operations.
“From the Ministry of ATR/BPN, there is no comment on that matter,” Ossy said when met at his office in South Jakarta on Thursday 26 February 2026.
“The Ministry of ATR/BPN respects the legal process there (in court),” he stated.
PT Indobuildco, a company owned by Pontjo Sutowo, is demanding a guarantee fund if required to vacate Hotel Sultan in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area.
This follows Court Decision Number 208/PDT.G/2025/PN.JKT.PST concerning a civil suit filed by PT Indobuildco against the State Secretary (Mensesneg), which determined that the land dispute for the property in the GBK area was won by the state.
Hamdan Zoelva, Head of PT Indobuildco’s Legal Team, stated that the first reason for objection was due to a Supreme Court Circular Letter stating that execution of immediate decisions must be accompanied by a guarantee fund.
“The value of the hotel building alone is what it costs, equivalent to the value of the hotel building,” Zoelva said when met at Jakarta Central District Court on Monday 9 February 2026.
Previously, he had revealed to Kompas.com that the guarantee fund or compensation they valued as equivalent to relinquishing ownership of Hotel Sultan to the government amounted to Rp 28.292 trillion.
The former Constitutional Court chairman also objected and requested that execution of Hotel Sultan be postponed.
“Today is the submission of aanmaning. Aanmaning in procedural law means issuing a warning to carry out the decision itself. We submitted that we object. We object because there are several issues,” he stated.
