Ministry Launches 'Berlian' Campaign to Strengthen Child Protection

The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA) has launched the ‘Bersama Lindungi Anak’ (Berlian) campaign as an effort to provide safe, friendly, comfortable, healthy, inclusive, and happy spaces for every child. Minister Arifah Fauzi stated in Jakarta that the campaign is a call to all elements of the nation to use this month, which coincides with the 42nd National Children’s Day commemoration, as a momentum to create such environments for children. She explained that the campaign continues the mandate of the National Movement for Child Protection (Gernas RANA), with each ministry and agency contributing according to their respective functions. Through the Berlian campaign, the government hopes children will receive protection and be free from violence, discrimination, bullying, and child marriage, while also receiving positive parenting from families, educational institutions, and the community. The campaign also aims to create a safe digital space. The Minister emphasised that special attention is being given to child participation, noting the importance of listening to what children truly want in order to bridge understanding, rather than viewing issues solely from an adult perspective.
