Ministry for Empowerment of Women and Child Protection urges strengthening Pancasila values in Indonesian Shared Space
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Minister for Empowerment of Women and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi, is promoting the strengthening of Pancasila values through the Indonesian Shared Space (RBI) movement to advance women’s empowerment and child protection at the village and neighbourhood level.
“Strengthening women’s roles is not only related to improving economic capacity, but also ensuring that women have equal access, opportunity, and protection across various aspects of life,” said Minister Arifah Fauzi in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
She made this statement during a meeting with the Head of the State Ideology Foundation (BPIP), Yudian Wahyudi, which discussed strengthening collaboration between the two institutions in promoting women’s empowerment on issues of economics, welfare, and the environment through the integration of Pancasila values into various development programmes.
She highlighted gender-based disparities and discrimination that continue to occur across various development sectors.
These conditions demonstrate that efforts to achieve equality and justice for women continue to face various challenges and require collective attention.
“Gender-based disparities and discrimination still exist across various development sectors. Therefore, women’s empowerment becomes a strategic step to build critical awareness, strengthen self-confidence, and increase women’s capacity so that they are able to participate actively and obtain equal benefits in development,” said Minister Arifah Fauzi.
She added that strengthening women’s roles is an important part of realising inclusive and just development.
“The Constitution, through the 1945 Constitution, has guaranteed equal rights for every citizen to participate in development, including women who have a strategic role as drivers of family economics, leaders in society, and agents of change in various sectors,” said Minister Arifah Fauzi.
