Ministry and Musyrif Diny prepare post-hajj moral guidance handbook

The Musyrif Diny, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Hajj Administration of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, is preparing a guidance manual on maintaining hajj mabrur (a state of virtuous pilgrimage) to serve as a reference for pilgrims after they return to Indonesia. Musyrif Diny member Faturahman Kamal stated upon arrival at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten, on Tuesday that an agreement had been reached with the Director General of Hajj Development to compile a guide that can be used as a reference in fostering the mabrur state of pilgrims after they perform the hajj in the Holy Land. According to him, the preparation of the guide is part of an effort to realise one of the main targets of hajj administration, namely the success of hajj civilisation and civility, in addition to the ritual success that was the focus of the Musyrif Diny’s assistance in the Holy Land. Faturahman explained that the government-appointed Musyrif Diny has a mandate to ensure that all series of hajj rituals performed by Indonesian pilgrims comply with Islamic law and jurisprudence. In carrying out this task, the Musyrif Diny plays a role in bridging various religious views and fatwas that develop within Indonesian society. However, there are two main principles that serve as guidance during this year’s hajj implementation. Firstly, the application of a fiqh paradigm that provides ease for pilgrims, especially elderly groups, people with disabilities, and women who dominated this year’s hajj season. ‘We agreed to use a fiqh legal paradigm that facilitates pilgrims so that they can perform their worship optimally without ignoring sharia provisions,’ he said. Another Musyrif Diny member, Afifuddin, stated that hajj is not merely understood as the performance of religious rituals, but also as a process of character building capable of bringing a positive impact to community life after pilgrims return to their respective regions. ‘We want hajj not to stop as a spiritual experience in the Holy Land, but to continue as a moral and social movement that benefits society,’ he said. He also expressed appreciation to the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and all parties involved in the organisation of this year’s hajj pilgrimage. According to him, the implementation of the 1447 H/2026 M hajj season went well and showed positive achievements in aspects of service, worship assistance, and strengthening civilisational values among Indonesian pilgrims. Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf said the presence of the kiai in the Musyrif Diny is to ensure that all rituals and activities of hajj participants comply with every rule stipulated in the religion.
