Ministries and Agencies Queue Up for 2027 Budget Top-Ups, Here's the List
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Ahead of the ratification of the 2027 State Budget Draft (APBN) into law, a number of ministries and agencies have begun requesting additional budget allocations. Many state institutions are currently discussing their indicative budget ceilings for 2027 with the House of Representatives (DPR), with several proposing increases and seeking parliamentary support.
Here is a list of some of the ministries and agencies requesting additional funding for next year:
Ministry of Industry: Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita requested an additional Rp1.59 trillion, raising the total from the indicative ceiling of Rp2.04 trillion to Rp3.6 trillion. The extra funds are earmarked for industrial machinery restructuring, strengthening small and medium industries (IKM), downstream natural resource processing, vocational education, and industrial information system development.
Ministry of Agriculture: Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman requested an additional Rp22.43 trillion on top of the indicative ceiling of Rp23.23 trillion. The funds will be used to meet targets for the National Priority Programme (PKPN) in strategic food commodities such as rice, corn, soybeans, palm oil, sugar cane, coffee, coconut, cocoa, nutmeg, pepper, milk, eggs, and meat.
Ministry of Cooperatives: Minister Ferry Juliantono requested an additional Rp1.34 trillion, increasing the indicative ceiling from Rp542.88 billion. The budget is needed to accelerate the operationalisation of over 80,000 Koperasi Desa Merah Putih (Red and White Village Cooperatives) and to support national cooperative development.
Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries: Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono requested an additional Rp30 trillion from an indicative ceiling of Rp15.63 trillion. The funds are required to expedite priority programmes, including the construction of Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih (Red and White Fishermen’s Villages), revitalisation of fish ponds, and coastal community empowerment.
Ministry of Education: Minister Abdul Mu’ti stated that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has proposed an additional Rp40.75 trillion. The current indicative ceiling in the draft budget is only Rp58.24 trillion, which is insufficient to cover all the ministry’s budget items.
National Police: The Indonesian National Police (Polri) received an indicative ceiling of Rp118 trillion for 2027, a decrease from the Rp146 trillion allocated in 2026. Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo stated that the ideal budget requirement for 2027 is Rp178.6 trillion, leaving a shortfall of Rp60.6 trillion.
Corruption Eradication Commission: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) increased its additional budget request for 2027 to Rp989 billion, up from a previous request of Rp762.30 billion. The KPK’s indicative ceiling for 2027 is Rp1.23 trillion.
