Ministers Set Free Housing Certification for Low-Income Communities
Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) has collaborated with the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid to establish free certification for the housing sector for Low-Income Communities (MBR).
“We are also reporting a most extraordinary breakthrough in our collaboration, which is free certification for MBR (Low-Income Communities). Later we will also collaborate with the Housing KUR (People’s Business Credit),” Ara said at the ATR/BPN Ministry in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to him, this represents tremendous support from the ATR Minister/Head of BPN for ordinary people.
“The free certification will later be combined with the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) programme, which is home renovation. How those renovated homes can also be given free certification will certainly be sorted out by Mr Nusron. Then, for the occupants who wish to do business, they can access the Housing KUR. So the certificate is processed, the house is renovated, and the family’s economy is boosted through the Housing KUR programme,” he said.
The first cluster, Nusron said, is the group of people who receive housing assistance from the government. As is known, housing assistance from the government is provided by three ministries. The largest provider was formerly the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the BSPS or home renovation programme.
“The number from 2015 to 2024 over 10 years that have received it is around 1.4 million houses. Of those 1.4 million houses, after we verified the data, there are around 1.1 million houses that are not yet certified,” he said.
Nusron stated that the recipients of the BSPS programme and other home renovation programme recipients from the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health for tuberculosis sufferers will be the target objects of the free housing sector certification programme for MBR.
