Minister's Prayer: Grant Us Awareness to Correct Ourselves, Forgive Those Who Err

Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar led a prayer at the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI in the MPR/DPR/DPD Plenary Hall, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8).

“Our only hope is that You bless this historic gathering for our nation. May this Annual Session become the best momentum to synergise all the potential of the nation that You have bestowed upon us,” Nasaruddin said in his prayer.

Nasaruddin also prayed for Indonesia to be protected from slander and betrayal. He hoped the nation would be shielded from deceit and negative manipulation.

He expressed hope that the government would be enlightened to correct itself if criticism is true. Conversely, he hoped that those who criticise would be forgiven if they are mistaken.

“Make us aware to correct ourselves if their slander and criticism are true. Forgive them if their slander and criticism are wrong,” Nasaruddin said.

Through his prayer, Nasaruddin hoped the MPR Annual Session would be blessed. He wished for it to be the best momentum to synergise the nation’s God-given potential.

“Unite our hearts and minds to love our country together. O Allah, help any of Your servants who are oppressed, who are weak on this earth, whether they are religiously observant or not, for they are also Your creations who need help,” he said.

Nasaruddin prayed for the people to be united in love for the country. He prayed for God to always help all people, both the religious and the non-observant, the weak and the oppressed.

“The road we must travel is still long, the challenges we must face are still great, the responsibilities we must bear are still many, and the obstacles we must overcome are still diverse,” Nasaruddin stated.

Prabowo is scheduled to deliver two speeches today. The first is a State Address and Report on the Performance of State Institutions, to be delivered during the MPR RI Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR RI & DPD RI at 08:30 WIB.

For the second agenda, Prabowo will deliver a state address at the DPR plenary meeting at 13:00 WIB.

Several ambassadors from friendly nations, ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet, heads of state institutions, and other invited guests are scheduled to attend the state event. The invitation list also includes the President and Vice President, former Presidents and Vice Presidents, as well as former leaders of the MPR, DPR, and DPD.
