The DPD RI Awards 2026 is being held again this year. Ministers have expressed appreciation for the awards programme, which seeks to identify driving figures in the regions. Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, Arifah Fauzi, voiced her appreciation for the event during the DPD RI Awards 2025. She said all parties must collaborate to build the nation. “This demonstrates the spirit of togetherness towards Indonesia Emas 2045. This can be achieved if we all collaborate and synergise with one another. Tonight we have proven that collaboration,” Arifah said at the DPD RI Awards 2025 awards ceremony.

Arifah assessed that regional figures each have their own role in building the nation. In her view, the DPD has a role in showcasing these figures. “The DPD is an inseparable part of the collective process of building the nation,” she said.

Appreciation was also conveyed by Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana. She assessed that the DPD RI Awards provides motivation for young people in the regions to continue contributing. “I greatly appreciate the DPD RI for holding awards like this. It really motivates young people in the regions to contribute, innovate, be creative, and generate good ideas for their regions,” Widiyanti said.

Meanwhile, the consort of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana X, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Hemas, who attended the DPD RI 2025 awards ceremony, also expressed her appreciation. “The awards that are presented actually reflect conditions that truly occur in society. We do not merely assess them, but we also support them and can help resolve problems in the regions,” said GKR Hemas.

There are four award categories in the DPD RI Awards 2026: Non-Formal Education Innovator, Health Technology Innovator, Food Self-Sufficient Village Driver, and Regional Culture Preservationist.

The first category is in the field of education. This award will be given to individuals who have dedication and contribute to non-formal education. “The award is given to Non-Formal Education Innovators who are dedicated to developing non-formal education and expanding learning opportunities for the community,” the DPD RI wrote on its official website.

The DPD RI Awards 2026 is also given to figures who contribute in the health sector. The award will be given to those who are health technology innovators. “Given to individuals, professionals, or academics who produce innovations in the health sector through clinical or laboratory research, including the discovery of medicines, therapies, or medical devices that benefit the community,” the DPD explained.

Next is the field of food security. The award will be given to figures who are drivers in building food self-sufficient villages. “Aimed at Food Self-Sufficient Village Drivers who promote food self-sufficiency through the utilisation of local food potential, community empowerment, and strengthening food security sustainably,” it said.

The final category is in the field of arts and culture. This award will be given to individuals who preserve and promote regional culture. “Given to individuals who have innovation in developing and preserving regional culture and play an active role in promoting regional culture at national and international levels,” the DPD explained.

The DPD RI will also present Special Recognition Awards for figures, individuals, or groups who have made consistent and sustainable contributions to their regions.
