Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto continues to demonstrate his commitment to the success of the thematic village programme across Indonesia. He showed this commitment during his visit to Lenyek Village, North Luwuk Subdistrict, Banggai Regency.

During the visit, Yandri engaged in dialogue with the village community and stated that his arrival in Lenyek Village followed news that the village had designated dragon fruit as the flagship commodity in its thematic village development. Additionally, the tourism village potential in Lenyek Village is extraordinary and must continue to be developed.

Yandri said that the Ministry of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions would provide assistance to Lenyek Village that could be used to support the village’s potential, such as developing Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa), the dragon fruit thematic village, and the existing tourism village in Lenyek Village.

“Insya Allah, from the Ministry of Villages, there will be assistance for Lenyek Village. We have programmes for tourism villages, export villages, then BUM Desa, village markets. Later, I will discuss with the Regent which ones to prioritise,” said Yandri in a written statement on Monday (13/4/2026).

In addition to supporting the existing village potential in Lenyek Village, during the dialogue, Yandri also received complaints from the village community, such as infrastructure access, lack of classrooms in schools, and the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme not yet reaching Lenyek Village school.

In response to these issues, Yandri will immediately follow up by coordinating with the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, and the National Nutrition Agency.

“So in Lenyek Elementary School, North Luwuk Subdistrict, it is said that the school children study outside the classroom, they don’t have classrooms, so please Mr Abdul Mu’ti (Minister of Basic and Secondary Education), who is kind, please help Lenyek Elementary School so that the children become great people,” said Yandri.

“Those who haven’t received MBG yet, this is Prof Dadan, Head of BGN, it turns out that in the villages, in elementary schools, in schools in North Luwuk Subdistrict, Banggai Regency, they haven’t received MBG yet, later they can coordinate with the Regent to build the kitchen,” he continued.

Yandri hopes that through his visit to the grassroots level, it can resolve the problems in the villages and utilise the potentials available in villages throughout Indonesia.

Also present at this event were Regent of Banggai Amirudin, as well as the ranks of the Forkopimda of Banggai Regency. Accompanying Mendes PDT on this visit was the Head of BPI of the Ministry of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions, Mulyadin Malik.
