Minister Yandri Asks PAPDESI to Help Implement President's Programme
With the holding of this second national congress, we await its recommendations, which we will then convey to stakeholders or policymakers,” said Yandri in his statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
He conveyed this at the II PAPDESI National Congress held at the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions Development, and Transmigration Office in Jakarta on Monday (11/6/2026).
Yandri stated that these recommendations are expected to ensure that all of President Prabowo Subianto’s programmes are implemented well and their benefits are felt by village communities. The government’s priority programmes involving villages include the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP), Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), and People’s Schools.
He added that villages in Indonesia can support the success of the MBG programme by becoming thematic villages. In this regard, villages can transform into egg-laying chicken villages, tilapia villages, fruit villages, or vegetable villages.
Yandri explained that the realisation of thematic villages is intended to optimise village development and construction in line with their potentials. For example, a village with tilapia fish potential will be developed into a tilapia-producing village.
By becoming thematic villages, especially in the food sector, said Yandri, villages can play a role as suppliers of materials for the MBG Programme.
“The economic benefits from the MBG programme can be directly felt by the people in the villages,” he said.
“Bung Hatta said that Indonesia will never shine, will never be brightly lit with one torch at Monas, but Indonesia will be brightly lit with the small candles in the villages,” Yandri continued.
This former Chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR also invited all parties, especially PAPDESI, to collaborate in succeeding various government priority programmes, particularly those aimed at improving the welfare of village communities.
Meanwhile, PAPDESI General Chairman Wargiyati expressed thanks for the presence of the members at the II National Congress. She also asked PAPDESI officials and village heads to support President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita.
“I ask the village heads to stand firmly in line to succeed the government programmes,” Wargiyati concluded.
For information, this II PAPDESI National Congress carries the theme “Uniting Villages to Guide Asta Cita”. Attendees at the event included Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, Deputy Commander of the TNI General TNI Tandyo Budi Revita, and President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota.
