Minister of Population and Family Development Wihaji visited Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, to review the performance of Family Assistance Teams (TPK) tasked with ensuring optimal assistance for target families. Wihaji stated that the visit was to directly observe the TPK, who serve as the government’s frontline in assisting families, particularly those vulnerable to stunting. “There are approximately 599,824 TPK across Indonesia,” he said in Koba on Wednesday. During the visit, more than 1,002 TPK members in Central Bangka Regency were gathered to verify their activeness and to remind them of their duties and responsibilities. He noted the high spirit among the TPK members in Central Bangka, with involvement from various age groups actively carrying out their assistance duties. “The enthusiasm of the TPK in Central Bangka is extraordinary. There are elderly members still serving as assistants, and even some who are around 20 years old,” he said. Wihaji expressed hope that this enthusiasm would be maintained so that the TPK can sustainably carry out its assistance function to support the improvement of family quality and the acceleration of stunting reduction in the region.
