Minister of Population and Family Development and Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), Wihaji, has reported on the progress of distributing Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) for the ‘3B’ group, namely pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers not enrolled in early childhood education (PAUD). He stated that 75 percent of nutritional fulfilment service units (SPPG) are now serving the 3B group.

This was conveyed by Wihaji during a working meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (24 June 2026). Wihaji presented the latest data as of early June 2026.

“From the provisional data I obtained from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), as of the report dated 3 June, there are 29,000 SPPG units. Of these, 75 percent, or 22,672 units, are already serving the 3B group,” Wihaji said during the meeting.

Nevertheless, Wihaji noted that the number of MBG recipients for the 3B group has only reached 38.51 percent of the 25 million target. He said his ministry would communicate with BGN to follow up on this matter.

“But, if I may clarify, from the target of 25 million recipients, coverage is still at 38.51 percent. We are beginning to establish new communication with BGN, specifically regarding MBG for the 3B group,” he revealed.

Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the DPR RI, Charles Honoris, requested a detailed explanation regarding the data. Wihaji explained that the data received was based on the Intercensal Population Survey (SUPAS) from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and data from the Ministry of Population and Family Development.

“The number of targets is based on data from SUPAS at BPS and from the updated family data collection (PK) at our ministry. That is the projection basis. The projection is taken from SUPAS data and PK data at our ministry,” Wihaji said.

Wihaji also proposed a new pattern in the distribution strategy for MBG 3B. His ministry is preparing a specific standard operating procedure (SOP) regarding this.

“However, I need to report to you all regarding the strategy for optimising the role of the Ministry of Population and Family Development concerning MBG 3B,” Wihaji stated.

“This includes the possibility of introducing new patterns that adapt to current conditions without violating regulations. Our ministry is also drafting SOPs, particularly for distribution and education, to prevent any issues,” he added.
