Minister Welcomes Birth of 'Adik Domang', Fresh Hope for Sumatran Elephants

Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni has announced the birth of a Sumatran elephant calf in Tesso Nilo National Park (TNTN). The arrival offers fresh hope for the critically endangered Sumatran elephant population. Raja Juli stated that the calf, born to mother Ria, is in good health. The birth of this younger sibling to Domang is seen as a symbol of high optimism for the future and preservation of the Sumatran elephant population in their native habitat. The birth also proves that the ecosystem in Tesso Nilo National Park still provides a supportive living space for protected wildlife, despite the stringent forest conservation challenges faced today. The Minister has asked netizens to suggest a name for the new arrival. Previously, Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan also welcomed the birth, stating it provides new hope for the world of conservation. Riau Police affirmed their commitment to supporting conservation efforts and nature protection through the spirit of ‘Green Policing’.
